Wednesday, July 26, 2006 When I heard they were making a movie from Dante's Inferno, I was intrigued. Then I found out that it's going to be all live-action puppetry, and I was really interested. Now I've discovered that Paul Zaloom (aka Beakman of Beakman's World) is involved, and wow! Today's required spooky link: a Barcelona company makes ecologically friendly, biodegradable urns. I especially like the tiny chest and the pyramid. The round-the-world tour begins...now! Vienna: there's an H.R. Giger exhibition going on at Kunsthaus Wien. Paris: the Paris Plage is back! Who cares about the heatwave? Lebanon/Israel: Anderson Cooper is over there covering the war, and the crew has a weblog documenting what's been happening. Across the U.S.: the cross-country race called the Bullrun started yesterday. I'm waiting patiently for Death Races to begin; the Bullrun seems to be a step in that direction. Paul Zaloom rocks with his *beep* out...he is a mega talented and subversive performer and the rest of the cast/crew looks great too. It's about time someone tackled The Inferno and these cats might just have the combined talent to do this classic the artistic judgement it deserves.
