As promised, links from others abound today. Thanks, everyone!

From Zazoo: the Sludge Faktory cyberpunk store.

From Daniel: "Atomic Weapons, Combat Robots and Scientific Apparatus. Check out the gallery." (This is AMAZING.)

Also from Daniel: "Kind of like high tech taiko drummers.. very cool." (I think we need to see more taiko drummers hitting the drums with their head, personally.)

From Bunny: "Here's a really funny photo gallery from one of those haunted houses in Niagara. I guess they have a cam set up to flash a pic at a certain scare-area." Also, the Daily (Monthly?) Cleaver has been updated!

Have a good weekend, everyone. See you Monday!

It's the triumphant return of the Library-Related Site of the Week! We begin with I Contemplate.

Lest you think that working in legal affairs is boring, I give you the exciting contest among the Superhotties of the Federal Judiciary! Vote early. Vote often.

Also, the anarchist librarians have their own weblog. The revolution will be pixelated. Preferably via open source.

From Chuck: a tale of libraries and CDs, and why the former tend to get multiple crappy copies of the latter.

Did you know that magnets don't actually erase hard drives? This myth and several others are investigated and mostly debunked. So can I put obnoxious magnets around my workstation?

Slightly odd personal fact: my grandfather was a homicide detective in Chicago back in the day. He was not quite on the force yet during the period that Northwestern's database of Chicago murders explores (1870-1930), which is kind of a shame because this site has so much information packed into it that I might have learned something I didn't know about him. Go and marvel at the detail!

Tomorrow: links from others. Stay tuned.

You know it's summer when the bulls run in Pamplona. (I always cheer for the bulls, personally.) I especially like that the site offers a page on "useful advice," which basically reiterates that one should not be a complete idiot when participating. (An update: apparently quite a few people ignored the useful advice and have been trampled already.)

It's also time for the 7th World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling Championships! How can you resist?

From Zazoo: "An interesting story on cincinnati.com (especially for you research types) about Ohio ghost towns. I wish Pee Pee and Teacup still existed...Also, a link just screaming to be on Folderol, a whole site dedicated to Ohio Ghost towns, divided by county. Go explore..."

And we're back! A few quick announcements: please send good vibes to my mom, who has a pinched nerve in her back (and reports that it is incredibly painful); send congrats to Zazoo on becoming an uncle (and welcome to little Emily Nicole!); and finally, while we did not reach Maine after all, email me if you want to know a great place to stay in central Vermont.

Okay. Whew. I am not quite caught up yet, so today's a "links from others" day. Thanks, everyone!

From Mykol: SPEEEEEEEEED!

From Zazoo: "Ken has already been replaced! Meet Barbie's new beau, Blaine." (All I can think of is Pretty in Pink Ducky's spluttering, "Blaine? BLAINE? That's not a name, it's an appliance!")

From Daniel: "In possibly the stupidest, blatantly boldfaced lie, the U.S. Department of Justice said it can't share data because their computer system will crash."

Also from Daniel: "From the corner of weird and oversized, we bring you 'Great Big Stuff'- your one stop shop for 'uniquely oversized versions of everyday objects.'"

From Satori: "Here's a CRAZY story about a haunted bar in Northern Kentucky called Bobby Mackey's Music World." (We are currently planning a ghosthunting excursion!)
