Links from others! Thanks, everyone!

From Satori: What dog are you? This quiz is worth it for the interface alone! Incidentally, I am a Tibetan terrier. I bring you enlightenment as well as newspapers, apparently.

Also from Satori: "4 more years? Fuggedaboudit!!!" Additionally, here's the main site for the Great American Shoutout. Woohoo!

From Daniel: "Hi kids, welcome to todays class. Today we're going to learn how to fold a t-shirt in the most speedy and effective way."

Also from Daniel: "On April 26, 1986, Alexander Yuvchenko was at work - like most days, and today he's still alive to tell about it. His former place of employment - Reactor #4 in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant."

From Glenna: new and interesting ways to torture your child, and/or turn them off spicy food for life. People are so weird.

From Holly: man, you can't even trust the hippies to be environmentally conscious any longer!

From Chuck: whether you love or hate tomatoes, you will love Tomatina. Look out!

Have a good weekend, everyone! See you Monday.

If you're going to be near the Republican National Convention, keep an eye out for the fantastic Radical Reference librarians! They say they will be providing service "via this web site, blog, e-mail, chat, phone, in the street and Ouija board." (I really want to see them use a Ouija board.)Viva les radicales!

For the law librarians: no need to worry about job security just yet; it appears that we're still in demand.

For the historians: the Library of Congress has a new exhibit online featuring the papers of Frederick Douglass. Very cool stuff.

For the artsy linguists: WordCount is a visual representation of the most-used words in the English language. You have to see it to understand it, really.

For the paranoid: a new virus can hijack webcams and turn them into spycams. For some reason, this strikes me as hilarious. "Look! The cat's sitting on the desk again! Muhahaha!" I mean, webcams, in general, are pretty useless.

Tomorrow: links from others!

An update from Monday's story! According to Daniel, "So, after no negotiation and not giving in to the demands of the hostage takers, the militiant graffiti artists killed the cow. Death by chainsaw, no less. Swedish article (with photos!) and English article here. That's 1-0, urban art."

Meanwhile, the Air Guitar Championships are beginning in Finland. No word yet as to whether militant artist will try to take air guitars hostage.

If you went to college in the midwest (and perhaps other regions), you may remember Brother Jed and Sister Cindy. (We are fond of quoting Sister Cindy's "lake of FIRE!" speech.) Thanks to the internet, you can now find out everything you ever wanted to know about the wacky preacher. Thanks for the link, Dr. Matt!

The Graveworm says you should visit the VoteSwing forum and start a discussion. (I volunteered to start a flamewar, but I need more participants!) Also, I am totally going to buy a MozFather t-shirt, and I think you should, too.

Okay, you may have seen the Qveere Eye for the Medieval Man, or the Bayeux tapestry version of Kelis's "Milkshake." (And if you haven't seen those, you should! Right now!) But did you know that you can create your own tapestry to say whatever you want?

You can also create a hypnodyne to make others do your bidding. (Somewhere, my seventh grade science teacher is having a wonderful time with this.)

If you would rather play games, try out the skeleton shop's flash distraction. It's nice and stark and Halloweenesque.

And finally...cool manhole covers from around the world! And they say city streets are boring!

Hi there. Today I am totally cheating and posting a bunch of links that Daniel found. (If Daniel ever begins his own weblog, I will be in big trouble.) More tomorrow!

1. What's not to like about some good monkey portraits?

2. "Swedish graffiti artists kidnapped a fibre-glass cow from the international art exhibit CowParade, held power drills to its head and threatened to 'sacrifice' it unless the sculptures were declared 'non-art'." (We're searching for the hostage video.)

3. An awesome online tool for exploring color schemes for [web] design work.
