Thursday, September 15, 2005Anyway. According to the Aura Colors Test, I am a tie between violet and "sensitive tan." (Sensitive tan? WTF?) Secondary colors are also a tie, this time between blue and orange. I think this combines to make my aura a muddy brown mess. Meh. Also: Google now has a blogsearch function. I guess they're officially called blogs now, more's the pity. But the search engine rocks. Also, I put the latest stained glass effort on Flickr. I do commissioned work! As long as your expectations aren't too high, that is! Possible update tomorrow, featuring links from others.
Wednesday, September 14, 2005Anyway! In Berlin, the Parasite/Parallel Worlds Project endeavors to make your subway trip more interesting and fantastical. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the special effects studios are rife with absinthe-drinking and bizarre orgies. Supposedly. You know how those film people exaggerate. Weblogs are everywhere, even in Antarctica! Check out the entry on visiting the penguins. Did you know that Ralph Waldo Emerson may have suspected his wife was a vampire? Really! Perhaps you can ask him via Ask the Dead, a pretty Ouija Board page affiliated with Tim Burton's upcoming Corpse Bride. In case I don't get to it tomorrow: Cincinnati public librarians are inching closer to unionization. Yay!
Tuesday, September 13, 2005Screenhead points to a link of old Mego Action Heroes commercials. I don't remember these, but I was pretty obsessed with Star Wars figures at the time and wasn't really cognizant of other heroes. Also via Screenhead: a collection of Burning Man photos. Looks like it was an amazing time. Legos are fifty years old! Celebrate by taking a tour through the history of plastic colored bricky joy, or buy some special edition gold Legos, or release your inner innovator through the Lego Factory (this looks awesome), or check out some Lego-themed films. The Lego Clan, for instance, is an incredibly violent trilogy. Who'd have thought Lego men to have so much blood in them? (Bonus points to anyone who gets that last sentence.) And for something completely different, songs about food safety, courtesy of Dr. Carl Winter. I'd like to see a collaboration between this guy and Slim Goodbody.
